In June 2014, General Motors recalled every Chevrolet Camaro built in five years — 464,712 cars in the United States. Not for the engine or the brakes. Because the driver's knee could knock the key out of the Run position and switch the car off. GM insisted the switch met every engineering specification. That was true. The problem was what was attached to it. This is the story of the Camaro's most significant failures — and why almost none of them came from a badly made part. They came from good parts placed in the wrong position: a key folded inside a fob at knee height, an ignition sensor bolted directly beneath a water pump, a clutch designed to slip in a fluid that changes with age. We cover the official recalls, the manufacturer's own service bulletins, the patterns in the federal complaint database — and, in a separate final section, what owners themselves report on enthusiast forums. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ⏱ CHAPTERS 00:00 — Every Camaro, recalled 01:52 — The fix, and the spare key that wasn't 03:38 — The key that won't come out 05:27 — The ignition under the water pump 07:20 — The timing chain that stretched 09:04 — The transmission shudder 10:50 — What owners report 12:31 — The part in the wrong place ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Subscribe — there's a great deal more coming. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ SOURCES & NOTES Recall details are taken from NHTSA campaign records 14V346000 and 14V447000 and GM's own recall filings. The final section of this video reports faults described by Camaro owners on enthusiast forums. These are owner accounts, not manufacturer findings or official determinations, and are presented as such. #chevroletcamaro #carrecall #automotivehistory
