Thrifting Isn’t Cool

Thrifting wasn’t cool when I was growing up. I did it because we didn’t have much choice. For a long time, I thought of thrifting as something I had to do—not something I wanted to do. While other people were shopping for new clothes and the latest trends, I was learning how to look through a rack of secondhand clothes and figure out what was actually worth bringing home. But looking back, I realize thrifting gave me something I didn’t appreciate at the time: the ability to find hidden value and develop my own sense of style. 🛍️✨ It taught me to look beyond a price tag or a brand name and ask a different question: “Do I actually like this?” That skill has followed me well beyond the thrift store. It’s changed how I think about fashion, shopping, money, and the things I choose to bring into my life.
