The iconic F-86 earned its reputation in hostile skies and peacetime service, but the F-86D interceptor coupled an all-weather capability with an all-rocket armament. Derived from the F-86A, 75% of the F-86D differed from the standard F-86.
This episode features two examples from different museums, recalling its history standing guard against a bomber invasion that thankfully never came.
