In 177 AD, soldiers burned the martyrs of Lyon to ash and swept them into a river, mocking, "Now let's see if they will rise again." If your loved one was cremated, scattered, or never found, does that change anything about the resurrection? In this study we put that question on trial and call witnesses from Scripture, one at a time. Genesis 3:19 and Daniel 12:2 show that God's promise was always to raise people from the dust. First Corinthians 15 shows that God gives each one its own body, sown in weakness and raised in power. Philippians 3:21 and the scars Thomas touched in John 20 show that the risen body is truly yours, not a replacement. We also face the oldest objection head-on (the sailor eaten by fish), hear how early Christians like Athenagoras and Minucius Felix answered it, and look at what different churches teach about cremation today. Then we close with the witness the persecutors never read: Revelation 20:13, where the sea itself is made to give back its dead, using the very same Greek verb Paul uses for God giving a body.
