The rains end, and Sugriva has forgotten his promise to Rama. Lakshmana goes down to Kishkindha in anger, and soon the monkey army sets out in four directions to search for Sita. The southern party reaches the sea with no news, and an old vulture with no wings finds them on the beach. Then Hanuman stands up and begins to grow. This is the Ramayana told as a shadow-puppet play, in the style of Andhra's Tholu Bommalata leather puppets: one storyteller, one lamp, and the oldest story of the subcontinent.
