Birds of Edithvale Wetlands - Part II This video is a collection of the birds that inhabit the area, this includes an image, a title with the scientific name and a short video of each individual species of bird that I have photographed and videoed, featured birds are: Eurasian Coot – Fulica atra, Freckled Duck - Stictonetta naevosa, Galah - Eolophus roseicapillus, Great Cormorant - Phalacrocorax carbo, Grey Teal - Anas gracilis, Hardhead - Aythya australis, Hoary-headed grebe - Poliocephalus poliocephalus, Latham’s snipe - Gallinago Hardwickii, Little Black Cormorant - Phalacrocorax sulcirostris, Little Grassbird - Megalurus gramineus, Little Pied Cormorant - Microcarbo melanoleucos, Little Raven - Corvus mellori, Magpie Lark - Grallina cyanoleuca, Masked Lapwing - Vanellus miles, Nankeen Night Heron - Nycticorax caledonicus [V], Pacific Black Duck - Anas superciliosa, Pied Stilt - Himantopus leucocephalus, Pink-eared Duck - Malacorhynchus membranaceus, Red-browed finch - Neochmia temporalis, Red-kneed dotterel - Erythrogonys cinctus. I have put these together to quickly educate people on our wonderful wetlands that are very close to Melbourne, Victoria, Australia and the amazing wildlife that inhabits the last remnants of the great Carrum Carrum Swamp. This is another video with 20 different species showcased. The Edithvale wetlands bird hide is open between the hours of 1pm – 5pm Saturday & Sunday entry is free, just sign in a book to record your visit and maybe a gold coin donation, the only provision is that there needs to be water, as this wetland is ephemeral at times there is no water and without water the bird life is very scarce, then the bird hide will be closed. I feel very fortunate to have such a variety of habitats to view the many birds that live here, I will add more videos over time, hope you enjoy my work as I enjoy putting them together. ******************************************************* All Rights Reserved © Allan Broomhall 2026 Allan Broomhall Photography Subscribe to my channel for more videos    / @allan_broomhall
