Astronomers Just Watched A Solar System Being Born | हिंदी

We live on a planet. We have visited seven others in our own solar system. We have found more than six thousand more beyond it. And yet, until now, we had never once watched a solar system actually being born. In this Hindi documentary we follow the discovery of HOPS-315, a baby star just 100,000 to 200,000 years old, sitting about 1,300 light years away in the Orion Molecular Cloud. Everything we know about how planets form comes from meteorites and from studying planets as they already are today, because the earliest moments of formation are always hidden behind thick clouds of gas and dust that our telescopes cannot see through. HOPS-315 was different. A rare gap in its surrounding cocoon, combined with a favourable viewing angle, let astronomers look straight into the hidden inner region where planets are born. Using the James Webb Space Telescope, researchers led by Melissa McClure detected something that had never been seen before, warm silicon monoxide gas existing at the very same time as tiny solid silicate crystals, proof that condensation, the first chemical step of building a rocky planet, was happening in that exact moment. The Atacama Large Millimeter Array in Chile then pinpointed exactly where in the disc this was occurring, separating it from the winds and jets that are common around young stars. And in a striking parallel, that location matches almost exactly the distance of our own asteroid belt, the same place where the oldest minerals in our own solar system are still found today. We also look honestly at what this single observation does and does not prove, since one star is not enough to say this happens everywhere, and at what scientists plan to look for next. Every rock, every mountain, every person carries minerals that once began exactly this way, as hot gas cooling into a crystal.
