This Is Zion's Highest Peak...Almost Nobody Climbs It | West Temple

Unlike many of Zion National Park's famous hikes, West Temple doesn’t have a maintained trail to the summit. Reaching the top requires nearly 10 miles of rugged terrain, over 4,000 feet of elevation gain, exposed scrambling, technical climbing, and careful route finding. After talking about this climb for years, Jake and I finally decided to attempt the West Temple summit route. What started as an exciting adventure quickly became a reminder that in the mountains, things don’t always go according to plan. This is our attempt at climbing one of Zion’s most prominent peaks.
