"Thousand Springs State Park, with six awesome "units" puts the "magic" in Magic Valley. The Malad Gorge unit offers self-guided tours of a massive canyon with rare plants and bird watching. Activities include hiking, picnicking and day trips. Kelton Trail just east of I-84 from Malad Gorge still has abutments for a bridge on the Oregon Trail. Billingsley Creek unit includes a 50-site campground and the Visitor Center with the Hagerman Fossil Beds information center. Earl M Hardy Box Canyon Springs Preserve with the spring that has a flow rate of 180,000 gallons per minute, a hiking trial and a 20-foot waterfall. Ritter Island allows people to step back in time to visit an award-winning Guernsey cow dairy and is next to Thousand Springs. And Niagara Springs in the 350-foot-deep Snake River Canyon with year around fishing at Crystal Lake. While you're here you may want to visit the Hagerman Fossil Beds viewpoints and the Balanced Rock Park. I have divided this review into pages one for each unit. The state park is segmented but there are some very interesting things to see and several awesome locations to hike. The campground is basically a spacious RV park and is not my style. Still, I can see staying there to spend time in the canyons."
