The Ganden Tripa Jetsun Lobsang Tenzin Palsangpo arrived in Bhutan 🇧🇹

The first Ganden Tripa was Je Tsongkhapa (1357–1419), who founded the Gelug school. The 104th Ganden Tripa was Jetsun Lobsang Tenzin Palsangpo; his term expired in 2024. The current (105th) Ganden Tripa is Jetsun Lobsang Dorjee Palsangpo.[2] Since the Dalai Lama is a member of the Gelug school, Western observers have sometimes assumed that he was the spiritual leader of this school, but he is not. While the Dalai Lamas were traditionally the temporal leaders of the Tibeten state, the spiritual leader of the Gelug school is the Ganden Tripa.[3][4] Traditionally, the Ganden Tripa has also been the abbot of Ganden Monastery.
