A night's reading of the first chapter of Genesis, read slowly from the King James Version, and then of the other places in the Bible where its words return: the light, the waters, the heavens, and the rest of the seventh day. It runs about two hours, and it is made for falling asleep to and for leaving on.
The reading begins with Genesis 1:1 to 2:3 in full. After it come passages from the Psalms, Job, the prophets, the Gospels, the letters and Revelation that use the same words, each read in the verses listed below, with a short line between them to say where you are. The recording does not argue for any way of reading the first chapter and does not take a side in any debate about it. It only reads the places where its words come back.
All scripture is read from the King James Version, which is in the public domain. This video is a long, even reading of scripture. It is not counsel, care or medical advice, and it is not a treatment for sleeplessness, anxiety, grief or any other condition. Three verses use the word healing (Psalm 147:3, Ecclesiastes 3:3 and Revelation 22:2); they are read as scripture and as nothing more. It is narrated by an AI voice and is an independent project, not affiliated with any church, denomination or ministry. The Apocrypha is not used.
Looping: one passage is read twice. Genesis 2:1-3 is read at the end of the opening chapter and again at the close of the night. Nothing else is repeated. The word Selah, which stands in some psalms, is read as the King James text has it. The headings that some editions print above the psalms are not read. Where only part of a chapter is read, the verses are listed below.
