R9 Laguna Seca 2026-09-21 Ses1 Crash

Event Laguna Seca 2026-09-21 Carters at the Track (CATT) Group A Session 1 Low side crash at turn 11. Could not have picked a better spot since it’s the slowest point on the track for me. Not exactly how I’d like to get an elbow down, lol. Very surprised after I got up to see another rider to hang out with. My bike turned off right away, probably some Yamaha safety feature. His Triumph 765 kept running. I ran over and turned his bike off. I’m fine with getting reprimanded rather than have his engine running on its side possibly starving for oil. Not really sure what happened. Compared a bunch of previous laps and nothing seems all that different. There was a huge drift event over the weekend with lots of rubber and maybe oil on the track. Lot of that Laguna morning dew I have heard about and a bit of sprinkle. Track was wet. Same SC1 tires as previous weekend. Not sure if tires were up to temp. They were 2psi lower than they should have been which to me meant colder. I knew it the time, but I just thought they’d come up to temp normally. I am thinking about always bringing the other set of wheels that have Road 6’s for cold and wet mornings like this. Ultimately just a lack of skill and experience.
