Running Chevin Forest parkrun. Otley Chevin run, Shane Green Heritage Sculpture Trail

Eleven years in the making but Otley Chevin FINALLY has a parkrun! The course was looked at 11 years ago as a potential parkrun but those thoughts eventually formed Roundhay parkrun. Six years ago a concerted effort was made to bring parkrun to the Chevin. With the persistence of an incredible volunteer team parkrun is finally here so it felt extra special to run this event. The new sculpture trail (Otley Chevin Forest Park Heritage Time Trail) is a 3 km trail through the forest with wonderful chainsaw sculptures by local artist Shane Green. It was super fun to spot sculptures on our second lap of this challenging 2 lap trail run! The Chilli Yard was great for breakfast afterwards and the team were so wonderful they even donated a shoelace to their parkrun! Watch to find out why! Happy running, Nicola :)
