He had been Joseph McCarthy's chief counsel, he represented mob bosses, cardinals and newspaper owners, and in 1973 he took on a 27-year-old client named Donald Trump. This documentary follows that contract and the man who drafted it: a hospital room in Miami in 1975, where a dying billionaire's hand was moved across a document; a prenup Ivana read line by line before the wedding; a machine of favors, judgeships and phone calls that ran New York for a decade; forty-five character witnesses who came to save Cohn's law license; and a divorce in 1990 that brought the contract back into court. Cohn was disbarred on June 23, 1986. He died forty days later. Thirty years after that, a president still asked the same question: "Where's my Roy Cohn?"
