Restoring Topaz my 1963 Broads cabin cruiser in a cold stone shed in Derbyshire— just me and the kettle! This week: Wheelhouse door — Sapele stiles, genuine mahogany rails. Warp panel fixed with kettle + quarter-inch steel plate + bin liner. Now the inner panel I made — fitting it, floating it. One down, one to go. And the big decision — black iron staining around the lock cut-out and bottom rail — bleach it with oxalic acid or leave it as patina? I left it. Patina. 62 years of Broads history.
