Seeking the Way in Gannan Gannan is a place where mountains, faith, and everyday life come together. In this journey, I traveled through the grasslands, villages, monasteries, and ancient roads of southern Gansu, following the traces left by people who have lived here for generations. From the spiritual world of Labrang to the vast grasslands and along the historic Rock’s Road once traveled by Joseph Rock, I wanted to see beyond the scenery—to understand the people, their traditions, and the way they find meaning in life. Perhaps “seeking the way” is not about finding a single answer. Sometimes, it is simply about slowing down, listening, and discovering the stories hidden along the road. This is Gannan. This is my journey of seeking the way.
