Lower Me Down

LOWER ME DOWN – Inspired By Mark 2:1-12 He couldn't move, he couldn't stand He'd given up on healing hands But I watched four men I loved refuse To leave him where his hope ran through The door was blocked, the crowd too wide No room to get him there inside But Jonas looked up at the sky And said we're not done yet, let's try They didn't know what He would say They only knew they couldn't walk away So they tore through the roof They lowered him down Through the dust and the dark To the holiest ground They held on to the ropes They held on to their friend And Jesus looked up And He saw him descend Lower me down Lower me down Into the arms of the only One found Lower me down They told me how his face looked through that hole Like a man who finally came back to his soul He stood on his feet, he picked up his bed And everything they almost lost came back instead They didn't plan to be men of great faith They just refused to give up on their friend that day So they tore through the roof They lowered him down Through the dust and the dark To the holiest ground They held on to the ropes They held on to their friend And Jesus looked up And He saw him descend Lower me down Lower me down Into the arms of the only One found Lower me down He wasn't looking at the crowd, the scholars, the debate He looked right at the four who wouldn't let their brother wait And when they told me what they saw in Jesus' eyes that day Something broke wide open in my chest And I could finally say So they tore through the roof They lowered him down Through the dust and the dark To the holiest ground They held on to the ropes They held on to their friend And Jesus looked up And He saw him descend Lower me down Lower me down Into the arms of the only One found Lower me down He saw them carry him there And it counted And I believe it still Original lyrics by Trish Tipton Tried & True Worship Explore more worship songs and faith resources: https://trishstriedandtrue.com/faith-...
