Argalā Stotram and the Kīlakam are the bolt and the pin that open the Durgā Saptaśatī. The Argalā calls on the Goddess, verse after verse, with the refrain रूपं देहि जयं देहि यशो देहि द्विषो जहि — give me beauty, give me victory, give me glory, strike down my foes. The Kīlakam is the pin that completes that recitation. This is Day 2 of Śāradīya Navarātri, the night of Maa Brahmacāriṇī, she of sacred austerity. This video presents the Argalā Stotram (27 verses) and the Kīlakam (16 verses) with: • Devanagari on screen, one line at a time • Roman transliteration for pronunciation • English meaning of every line • The Brahmacāriṇī dhyāna, mantra and stuti • The Durgā mūla mantra and the Nārāyaṇī prayer सर्वमङ्गलमाङ्गल्ये 🙏 Subscribe to Mantra Sagaraa for all nine nights of Navarātri — Durgā, Lakṣmī and Sarasvatī chants with lyrics and meaning. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🌟 WHAT ARE THE ARGALĀ AND THE KĪLAKAM? ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ In the Devī Māhātmya, these two hymns stand with the Devī Kavacam. The Argalā is the bolt: it is spoken so the Caṇḍī recitation may bear fruit. The Kīlakam is the pin that holds it. Together they are read with the Saptaśatī. The text here is the longer recension: 27 verses of the Argalā and 16 of the Kīlakam, as in the Durgā Saptaśatī. Some printed books give a shorter Argalā of 24 verses. Both are traditional. This video follows the 27-verse reading. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ✨ BENEFITS OF LISTENING / CHANTING ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ • Traditionally recited before and with the Durgā Saptaśatī • Invoked for courage, victory and the removal of obstacles • The second of the three Durgā nights of Navarātri • Creates a strong, sacred atmosphere for puja or quiet listening Benefits are shared as traditional belief and personal practice. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🕉 HOW TO LISTEN / PRACTICE ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Sit comfortably, facing east if you can. Light a diya, and begin with Om. Follow the Sanskrit and transliteration on screen. Chant along softly, or simply listen with full attention. Best at dawn or dusk during the nine nights of Navarātri. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ If this brought you peace, please Like, Subscribe, and share it with someone observing Navarātri with you. #ArgalaStotram #Kilakam #Navratri #Navaratri #NavratriDay2 #MaaBrahmacharini #Brahmacharini #DurgaSaptashati #DurgaMantra #VedicChants #SanskritMantra #Navratri2026 #MantraSagaraa Tags argala stotram, argala stotram lyrics, kilakam, kilaka stotram, argala kilakam, अर्गलास्तोत्रम्, कीलकम्, navratri day 2, navaratri day 2, maa brahmacharini, brahmacharini mantra, durga saptashati, devi mahatmya, chandi path, durga mantra, navratri 2026, sharad navratri, navdurga, vedic chants, sanskrit mantra with lyrics, mantra sagaraa
