Remembered for her humility, compassion, and courage, Sister Mary Agneta remains a powerful witness to Christian love that transcended ethnic divisions during one of Sri Lanka's darkest chapters. Born Susilia Evelyn Bernadette Gunasekara on August 11, 1941, into a devout Catholic family, she was the youngest of eight children.
