Mardin is Mesmerizing

This week Tumbleweed took us to the amazing city of Mardin. I really liked the place, you could tell it was a tourist destination but it wasn't overrun by tour groups. At least in the off season! The market spilling down the hillside was an immersive experience. The vibrant red spices and their enticing aromas, the vendors hawking their goods and the people hurrying to complete their shopping all gave a "We're Not in Kansas Anymore" vibe. I loved it! I was also intrigued to learn about a branch of Christianity I had never even heard of, let alone knew anything about, at the nearby Deyrulzafaran Monastery. Between the historic sights, the friendly people and the delightful food, Turkiye is proving to be a top destination.
