They said they don't have enough teachers and Classrooms are too crowded. They asked for better schools. In a few days of protest more than 1,000 schools joined. Then other people like farmers, Workers are also joined. And people are angry about high food and fuel prices. On October 17 about 5.5 lakh people marched across France. Most were peaceful. But masked groups burned buildings and looted shops. A historic city hall was set on fire. More than 5,000 people have been arrested so far. President Macron first asked for talks but students said his offer was not enough. The protests are spreading in Italy, students took over schools. A march in Milan turned violent. Similarly in Belgium, Germany, Spain and Portugal young people are angry about high house prices. US President Trump said "France is burning!" He blamed migrants and Muslims. But France disagreed.
