Wenatchee Wildflowers (Horse Lake Hike)

✝️ “The grass withers, the flowers fade, but the word of our God lasts forever.” Isaiah 40 verse 8 VIDEO OVERVIEW: It's a wildflower heaven in the Leavenworth, Chelan, and Wenatchee foothills right now (end of April through early May). There are many trail options for viewing the spring blooms. We chose the 5+ mile loop starting at the Horse Lake Reserve Trailhead. Our route included parts of the Canyon Overlook Trail, Sage Hills Trail, Homestead Trail, and the Old Ranch Road. While the wildflowers filled our vision with a rainbow of colors and the sweet aroma of lupine filled the air, the Meadowlarks and Chukars (and a few other birds) provided a continuous serenade of joyful song as we ascended the gentle slopes to the viewpoint bench under a large pine tree. Sweeping views of Wenatchee and lush green, rolling hills lay before us as we rested, savoring the peace and serenity of the scene before us.
