In this video, we explore Samyang-dong in Gangbuk-gu, northern Seoul — an area that was once known as Mia 2-dong. Although the administrative name has changed, traces of the old neighborhood still remain in its narrow alleys, low houses, old address signs, and quiet residential streets. This part of Seoul sits near Bukhansan Mountain, where hillside terrain and building height limits have shaped the way the neighborhood developed over time. Because tall buildings were difficult to build in many areas, low houses and older streetscapes have remained longer than in many other parts of Seoul. Walking through these alleys, you can still feel the atmosphere of an older Seoul — modest homes, small gates, quiet corners, and everyday memories left in ordinary streets. This video records the old scenery of Samyang-dong and the remaining memories of Mia 2-dong. Some names disappear, but memories remain.
