Reopening St John's Chatham, Medway - stories from strategic investment

The Diocese of Rochester invested £681,597 in the re-missioning of Chatham Town Centre in Medway as part of an SDF project spanning 2017-2025, with other financial support established from Medway Council and other external partners. The project involved re-opening St John's Chatham which had been closed for 20 years, and establishing it as a centre of mission for the significantly deprived local community, which experiences high levels of crime. This year, the building project was complete, and the newly formed congregation moved back in, having grown to over 160 regular attendees from 9 in 2021. They also have regular contact with over 700 named people in the local community through 21 partnerships. _______ Useful links: Church Support Hub: https://churchsupporthub.org/ ________ Stay in touch: Like this video and subscribe to our YouTube channel.
