The hex bar deadlift—also called the trap bar deadlift—is one of my favorite exercises for developing total-body strength. In this video, I explain how to perform the hex bar deadlift, why you might choose it, and the key details that help make the movement safer and more effective. We’ll cover: • Setting up inside the hex bar • Creating tension before lifting • Bracing your trunk • Using your hips and legs together • Maintaining control throughout the lift • Why the hex bar can be useful for runners, athletes and active adults The hex bar allows you to stand inside the load rather than holding it entirely in front of your body. For many people, that makes it an approachable and highly useful deadlift variation—but good positioning and appropriate loading still matter. Start with a manageable weight, learn the movement, and gradually progress as your technique and strength improve. 🏃 Learn more about running, strength training and coaching: [https://totalbodyrunning.com](https://totalbodyrunning.com) #HexBarDeadlift #TrapBarDeadlift #DeadliftTechnique #StrengthTraining #ExerciseTutorial
