5 Days In. The Bravehearts 2026 777 Marathon

5 Days In is a film from inside the Bravehearts 777 Marathon. Seven marathons. Seven days. Seven states. But this is not really a film about running seven marathons. I went into the week with a camera and no script, wanting to capture the story around the event — the travel, the treatment, the buses, the early mornings, the tired bodies, the laughter, the constant calls of “let’s go”, and the people who gradually became a group. What emerged was something I hadn’t expected. As the week became harder, the energy didn’t disappear. People looked after each other. They waited. They encouraged. They carried each other through difficult moments. What began as a collection of runners became something much closer. Much of the running footage in this film was captured by the runners themselves. That became important. Around the running, you see the week as I saw it. During the running, you see it from inside the group. This film follows the first five days of the 2026 Bravehearts 777 Marathon — from Perth through Adelaide, Melbourne, Hobart and Sydney. There are still two days to go when the film ends. That is deliberate. Because 5 Days In is less about whether everyone reaches a finish line and more about what happens between people while they are trying to get there. The Bravehearts 777 Marathon raises funds and awareness to support Bravehearts’ work educating, empowering and protecting children.
