Isiolo County Woman Representative Mumina Bonaya has urged Isiolo residents to avoid leaders whose agenda is to spread politics in Isiolo rather than focus on benefits for the people. According to Mumina, some political leaders in the county have been pursuing their own interests instead of working together to serve the people of Isiolo. Mumina Bonaya said that during her four years in Parliament, she has championed the interests of Isiolo residents compared with her colleagues, presenting herself as an example of the kind of leader who should be elected. She also defended her partnership with Governor Abdi Guyo, saying it has brought numerous development projects to the people of Isiolo, including the construction of several roads in Isiolo town. At the same time, she appeared to campaign for Governor Abdi Guyo to secure a second term, saying his opponents for the position have no development record to show despite having been in leadership for many years. She made the remarks while issuing cheques of Sh100,000 to 14 groups at her office in Isiolo town. During the event, she said that over the past three and a half years, her office has provided similar support to 271 groups, with every ward in the county benefiting. She also noted that her office has been implementing a programme to provide sanitary towels to schools across Isiolo County.
