After carving out the pit, fallen pine trees are harvested, stripped of their bark, and precisely notched using a chainsaw and hand axe to form sturdy, interlocking retaining walls. The structural framework demands strict vertical alignment, supporting a massive load-bearing roof grid made of tightly spaced horizontal logs.
