The bus stops right in front of you. You did not wave it down. The doors fold open with a long, soft hiss, and the driver turns his head and smiles at you. Too wide. Every passenger is turned toward the door. Nobody is blinking. "We saved you a seat." This is a CastVenk Transit Safety Notice. CastVenk calls it the Welcome Bus. It does not chase anyone. It only needs you to climb aboard. And the question nobody can answer: how did it know you would be standing at that stop? Seven rules. Most people break the fourth one. The seventh one tells you it has already learned your schedule. ⏱ CHAPTERS 0:00 The bus that stops for you 0:55 The Welcome Bus 1:28 Rule 1 — If every passenger is facing the door, do not get on 2:04 Rule 2 — Check the number before you step on 2:51 Rule 3 — Look at their eyes, not their mouths 3:38 Rule 4 — If the driver says he saved you a seat, do not take it 4:15 Case File 018 — Rural school route, Ohio, 1987 4:39 Rule 5 — Never tell the driver where you are going 5:10 Rule 6 — If you are already on board, do not smile back 5:55 Case File 102 — City bus camera, Chicago, 2006 6:20 Case File 233 — Transit app, 2021 6:43 Rule 7 — If the bus is already waiting at your stop, it has learned your schedule 7:37 What CastVenk has learned 7:51 Summary 🔬 THE REAL SCIENCE BEHIND THE NOTICE • Transit is safe: a study prepared for the American Public Transportation Association ("The Hidden Traffic Safety Solution: Public Transportation", 2016) found that traveling by public transit is about ten times safer per mile than traveling by car. • The Duchenne smile: in 1862, French neurologist Guillaume Duchenne de Boulogne published "Mécanisme de la physionomie humaine", showing that a genuine smile also contracts the muscle around the eyes (orbicularis oculi), making the corners of the eyes crinkle. A polite or forced smile often leaves the eyes almost untouched. • Blinking: at rest, most people blink roughly 15–20 times per minute without noticing. • Conformity: in Solomon Asch's line-judgment experiments (1950s), about three out of four participants went along with a group's obviously wrong answer at least once. 🛡 REAL ADVICE: check the route number and destination against the official schedule or transit app, sit near the front where the driver can see you and close to a door when you ride alone, keep your plans to yourself around strangers, vary your routine if someone seems to be watching it, and tell someone you trust which bus you are taking and when you will arrive. ⚠️ FICTION NOTICE The Welcome Bus, the case files (018, 102, 233), Route Zero and the CastVenk broadcast are fictional, created for entertainment. The facts listed above are real. #horror #analoghorror #survivalrules #castvenk #bus
