NAIROBI TO NYAHURURU BY TRAIN 🇰🇪 | First Class or Economy for the Best Views?

What if you could see Kenya differently, not from a car, not from a plane, but from a train window? 🇰🇪🚂 I took the train from Nairobi to Nyahururu, tried both First Class and Economy to find out one thing: Which gives you the best views? What began as a simple train journey turned into one of the most beautiful adventures I’ve experienced. From the moment we left Nairobi, the landscape kept changing, from the city and its outskirts, through forests and tea plantations, across the dramatic Great Rift Valley, through railway tunnels, past historic railway infrastructure and construction sites and into the drier landscapes surrounding Mount Longonot. Along the way, I witnessed something I never expected: the fascinating process of the locomotive being detached and repositioned at Gilgil before our journey could continue. I also met two women who made this journey even more memorable, a Gilgil Station Manager and the train driver, both women doing their jobs with skill and confidence. As someone who believes in women taking up space and becoming all they can be, that was a particularly special moment for me. ❤️ And then there were the views… Mount Longonot. The Great Rift Valley. Tea plantations. Forests. Farms. Hills. Open landscapes. Small towns. Railway stations. And Kenya unfolding right outside my window. So, which did I prefer? I chose Economy Class for the journey itself not because First Class wasn’t comfortable, but because I wanted the window, the views and the feeling of watching Kenya transform as the train travelled north. This isn’t just a train ride.
