"You swore you’d be there through the mud and the rain, but you only left me with the weight of the pain." Welcome to the official music video for "Promises," the haunting new release from AI country artist Ryan Riggs. Stepping into a darker, more intimate space, Ryan delivers a deeply melancholic, stripped-back acoustic country song that captures the raw ache of broken vows. Through slow, minimalist acoustic strums, a weeping pedal steel guitar, and deeply emotional vocals, this track puts you right in the passenger seat of a car parked in the midnight rain. It’s a powerful exploration of the empty spaces left behind when someone walks away—a song for anyone who has ever been left holding the weight of a promise that was meant to last. As a trailblazer in the AI music revolution, Ryan Riggs continues to redefine country music by fusing the raw, honest grit of traditional storytelling with cutting-edge production. "Promises" showcases his evolution as an artist, delivering deep emotional vulnerability through next-generation artistry. Lyrics: The windshield is blurred by the midnight rain Radio static is drowning my pain I reach for your hand on the center console But my fingers just touch the cold and the hollow You promised to stay when my world fell apart You gave me your word then you walked in the dark Now the headlights are fading, the night's closing in I’m broken in places where we used to begin Left out in the dark where the shadows win Your favorite jacket is still on the floor Smelling like coffee and rain by the door I drive through the streets where we used to run Now I’m just a shadow blocking your sun You promised to stay when my world fell apart You gave me your word then you walked in the dark Now the headlights are fading, the night's closing in I’m broken in places where we used to begin Left out in the dark where the shadows win It’s easy to stay when the sky is all blue But the storm hit my heart, and it washed away you You swore you’d be there through the mud and the rain But you only left me with the weight of the pain You promised to stay when my world fell apart You gave me your word then you walked in the dark Now the headlights are fading, the night's closing in I’m broken in places where we used to begin Left out in the dark where the shadows win. #RyanRiggs #Promises #AICountry #CountryMusic #AcousticCountry #MelancholicCountry #NewCountry2026 #AIMusic #StrippedBackAcoustic #HeartbreakSong
