京都移住｜住む場所をどう選んだ？土地勘ゼロから北大路に決めるまで

I had almost no local knowledge, and even the layout of the city was something I had to check on Google Maps. Still, my wife, our dog Shiro, and I began searching for a place to live. Our priorities were practical: commuting, distance to a station, supermarkets, rent, and finding a dog-friendly rental. We considered several areas, including Kitayama, Demachiyanagi, Gosho-minami and Kitaoji. In the end, we chose Kitaoji. But after actually living there, we discovered many things that we could never have understood from maps or property listings alone. In this video, we share how we chose our first home in Kyoto, what we prioritized, and what we learned after moving in. I hope our experience is useful for anyone considering moving to Kyoto.
