Suwon Hwaseong Fortress

सुवन ह्वासाङ (Suwon Hwaseong) : दक्षिण कोरियाको सुवन शहरमा अवस्थित एक भव्य ऐतिहासिक किल्ला हो जसलाई सन् १९९७ मा युनेस्को (UNESCO) विश्व सम्पदा सूची मा समावेश गरिएको थियो। ऐतिहासिक पृष्ठभूमि: जोसियन राजवंशका राजा जोंग्जो (King Jeongjo) ले आफ्ना दिवंगत बुबा, राजकुमार सादोको सम्मान र सम्झनामा सन् १७९४ देखि १७९६ को बीचमा यो किल्ला निर्माण गराएका थिए। विशिष्ट वास्तुकला: यो किल्लालाई तत्कालीन पूर्वीय र पश्चिमा सैनिक वास्तुकलाको उत्कृष्ट संगम मानिन्छ। चोङ याक-योङ जस्ता विद्वानको डिजाइनमा यसको निर्माणमा इँटा, ढुङ्गा र क्रेन जस्ता तत्कालीन आधुनिक वैज्ञानिक प्रविधिको प्रयोग गरिएको थियो। संरचना र फैलावट: करिब ५.७ किलोमिटर लामो बलियो पर्खालले घेरिएको यस किल्लाभित्र ४ वटा मुख्य प्रवेशद्वारहरू (पाल्दालमुन, जाङ्गानमुन, ह्वासामुन र चाङन्यङमुन), कमान्ड पोस्ट, र गोप्य ढोकाहरू रहेका छन्। दृश्य र आकर्षण: किल्लाको माथिबाट सुवन शहरको आधुनिक र परम्परागत दृश्य एकैसाथ देख्न सकिन्छ। Suwon Hwaseong: A magnificent historical fortress located in the city of Suwon, South Korea, which was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1997. Historical Background: King Jeongjo of the Joseon Dynasty commissioned the construction of this fortress between 1794 and 1796 to honor and commemorate his late father, Crown Prince Sado. Distinctive Architecture: The fortress is considered an exemplary blend of Eastern and Western military architecture. Designed by scholars such as Jeong Yak-yong, its construction incorporated bricks, stone, and advanced technologies of the time, such as cranes. Structure and Layout: Enclosed by a sturdy wall approximately 5.7 kilometers long, the fortress complex features four main gates (Paldalmun, Janganmun, Hwaseomun, and Changnyongmun), command posts, and secret gates. Views and Attractions: From the top of the fortress, one can simultaneously view both the modern and traditional aspects of Suwon city.
