EP DESK, PASIGHAT, AUG 26 The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) East Siang District Unit organised a district interaction programme at Pasighat on Wednesday, bringing together party leaders and karyakartas from the 37 Pasighat West, 38 Pasighat East, Pasighat City and 39 Mebo mandals. State BJP President Kaling Moyong, State General Secretary Sushree Junty Singpho, State Vice President Tarh Soping, MLA 37 Pasighat West Ninong Ering, Minister Ojing Tasing and MLA Namsai Chau Zingnu Namchoom attended the programme. The agenda included discussions on party discipline, achievements of the state and nation, grassroots organisation and interaction with mandal representatives. District BJP President Mirem Komut, in his presidential address, thanked the leaders and karyakartas for their participation and said the mandal reports had been submitted to the state president and general secretary. Presidents of the respective mandals placed their issues and concerns before the state leadership. The 37 Pasighat West Mandal President also commended MLA Ninong Ering for his moral, physical and financial support during party and public events. The programme also witnessed a homecoming and merger session, where former party members who had left the BJP and later returned were welcomed back into the organisation. State General Secretary Sushree Junty Singpho interacted with the mandal representatives, heard their concerns and shared suggestions for strengthening the organisation. She stressed the importance of discipline, acknowledging the sacrifices of karyakartas and maintaining unity despite differences of opinion, saying that unity remains one of the party’s greatest strengths. She also spoke of the vision for a developed East Siang. State Vice President Tarh Soping encouraged party workers to make greater use of digital learning platforms such as SARAL to remain updated with information from the BJP zila and mandal units. He said Arunachal Pradesh was progressing in digital learning and assured that he would tour polling booths across East Siang to understand and improve their functioning. Chau Zingnu Namchoom highlighted achievements of the state and nation, including Arunachal Pradesh’s representation at the upcoming Asian Games. Two Arunachal athletes, Nyeman Wangsu and Rupa Bayor, have been selected to represent India at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, while the state has also produced athletes selected for the Asian Para Games. Namchoom also highlighted growth across sectors including agriculture, education and tourism. Arunachal’s education sector has recorded progress in school enrolment and infrastructure, with the state achieving 100 percent elementary-level enrolment by 2025, according to a BJP publication. MLA Ninong Ering described the BJP as a disciplined organisation and stressed the need to identify and support dedicated workers while adopting practical strategies at the grassroots level. State BJP President Kaling Moyong congratulated newly appointed state-level members and recalled the party’s organisational activities, including the Vande Mataram campaign. He also announced a month-long programme to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years of continuous public service, covering his tenure as Gujarat Chief Minister and as Prime Minister. Moyong further acknowledged the sacrifices of senior party workers, including Tai Tagak, and called for continued collective effort and organisational commitment. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by District General Secretary Tatem Jamoh, followed by the National Anthem, photo session and lunch.
