Can we build a cleaner, greener and water-secure future for Chak Beli, Rawalpindi? 🌱💧 In this video, we visit Chak Beli, Rawalpindi, Pakistan, where we have started a community-based environmental campaign focused on cleanliness, responsible waste management, rainwater harvesting and groundwater recharge. Our mission is to support a small village community in Pindori, where we are launching an initiative to help revive 25 dry bores through rainwater harvesting and groundwater recharge. Instead of allowing valuable rainwater to flow away as runoff, we want to explore practical ways to capture it, filter it and help it replenish the ground. 🌧️ OUR KEY ENVIRONMENTAL INITIATIVES ✅ Reviving 25 Dry Bores: Starting a rainwater harvesting and groundwater recharge campaign to help restore local water resources. ✅ Cleanliness and Waste Management: Promoting responsible waste disposal and encouraging residents to keep their village clean, healthy and environmentally friendly. ✅ Protecting Drinking Water: Raising concerns about potential water contamination in areas affected by oil and gas exploration and calling for proper water-quality testing and effective filtration solutions where needed. ✅ Safe Drinking Water for Communities: Advocating for appropriate water filtration plants and sustainable access to clean drinking water, based on water-quality assessments. ✅ Community Participation: Encouraging local residents to take responsibility for their environment and work together for a sustainable future. WHY DOES THIS CAMPAIGN MATTER? Groundwater is a vital resource for rural communities. When borewells dry up, families can face serious difficulties accessing water. Rainwater harvesting and scientifically designed groundwater recharge systems can help improve local water availability where geological and hydrological conditions are suitable. At the same time, any concerns about drinking-water contamination near oil and gas exploration must be investigated through independent water-quality testing. Communities deserve transparent results, appropriate monitoring and effective measures to protect their drinking-water sources. Our goal is not to blame anyone without evidence. Our goal is to raise awareness, encourage responsible action and protect the health of people and the environment.
