Euro NCAP Crash & Safety Tests of Kia EV2 2026

Euro NCAP’s 2026 assessment is structured around the Stages of Safety, evaluating how well a vehicle supports safer driving, helps avoid crashes, protects occupants and other road users, and assists rescue after a collision. ▶ Safe Driving assesses driver and occupant support, including driver monitoring, seatbelt reminders, child presence detection, speed assistance, assisted driving functions and the usability of key controls. Some systems are also validated through real-world road testing of up to 2,000 km. ▶ Crash Avoidance evaluates how effectively the vehicle can prevent or mitigate collisions, including AEB car-to-car, car-to-motorcycle, pedestrian and cyclist tests, lane support, cyclist dooring prevention, emergency steering, and junction, turning, reversing and low-speed collisions. ▶ Crash Protection assesses occupant and vulnerable road user protection through crash tests in the laboratory, including frontal impact tests at 50 km/h, side impact at 60 km/h, pole impact, far-side protection, whiplash sled tests, pedestrian impact tests, and supporting virtual or sled assessments. ▶ Post Crash Safety evaluates how the vehicle supports rescue after a collision, including eCall, rescue information, multi-collision braking, hazard activation, door opening and, for EVs, high-voltage battery isolation.
