I live in Nagoya but rarely come to the port, and that day I just wanted to see the sea and clear my head. Watching the water brought back memories of my mother's family, who were fishermen — the smell of the sea, and the horns of fishing boats far off as I fell asleep at night. The sun sets over the harbor about halfway through. After dark the walk reaches Sea Train Land, with its lit-up Ferris wheel, carousel and swing ride, and ends back at Nagoyako Station. Sunset at the start, night by the end.
