Again!?!? | iRacing V8 Supercars at Oulton Park

Back in the iRacing Gen 3 Supercars, this time taking on Oulton Park. I wasn't feeling particularly confident going into this one, so qualifying ended up being a pleasant surprise. This was a 2261 Strength of Field race with a full 30-car field, and I came in as the number 11 car. Somehow I managed to put together a good qualifying effort and started 8th on the grid, three spots ahead of my door number. Considering how I felt about my pace beforehand, I was more than happy with that. Things got interesting pretty quickly once the race started. One of the drivers behind me got alongside, and we spent several corners running side by side. Eventually I decided there wasn't much point in both of us losing a ton of time fighting this early in the race, so I conceded the position. Unfortunately, the battle compromised one of my exits enough that another car was able to sneak by as well. I felt quite a bit quicker than that second car, but before I really had to figure out how to get back around him, he spun and handed the position back. The driver I'd originally been battling eventually picked up a slowdown as well, allowing me to get back past him. Once I was clear, I started opening a gap and could finally concentrate on moving forward. Things were looking pretty good. I was planning an undercut on the next car ahead, made my pit stop, and then... iRacing crashed as I was leaving the pits. Arghhhh! After the monitor problem at Silverstone, the packet loss issue at Okayama, and now this, I'm starting to wonder just how many weird technical problems I can possibly have in one season. By the time I got iRacing loaded again and rejoined the session, I was a lap down and any hopes of the race I'd been building toward were pretty much gone. All that was left was damage control.
