Date filmed: Saturday the 7th of March 2026 Route: The Cotswold Line Between Honeybourne (HYB) and Evesham (EVE) Stations Crossing type: Manually Controlled Barrier crossing with CCTV (MCB-CCTV) Filming location: B4085 Blackminster, Evesham (WR11 7TD) I finally managed to return and get some better footage of lowerings here. Operations of this crossing could not be more different for the different directions; for Worcester-bound trains, the level crossing is routinely lowered far too early - before the train has even stopped in Honeybourne Station some miles away (almost 5 whole minutes have been cut from the first lowering). Conversely, for London-bound trains, the crossing isn't lowered until the train is leaving Evesham, a much more acceptable time to lower the crossing with the train arriving within two minutes. This is an excessive time to delay motorists without a train, although there is always a reason for signal spacing and placement. Some inside knowledge would explain a lot and be very welcome! Trains featured: Lowering 1 (0:00): 802 020 (Great Western Railway) - 2:00 - Lowering 2 (2:33): 802 108 (Great Western Railway) - 4:20 - End-of-video picture showcase: 4:55 Train details sourced from: Real Time Trains: https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/sear... Filmed on: Panasonic HC-VX1 in 4K, 25fps Thanks for watching!
