Genesis 11:11-32: The God Who Prepares The Way | Bible Study & Prayer

What if God is already preparing the way for something you cannot yet see? Genesis 11:11–32 closes the chapter with another genealogy—a passage of names and generations we might easily hurry past. But quietly, almost unnoticed, the story is narrowing from the nations of the world to one family. Generation by generation, the family line leads from Shem to Abram, later known as Abraham. At this point, Abram has not yet received God’s great promises or begun the journey for which we know him. Yet God is already at work, preparing the next chapter of His redemptive story. What may look like an ordinary list of generations reveals the patient faithfulness of a God whose purposes unfold across lifetimes. As we study Genesis 11 and pray through Scripture, today’s prayer moves from praise of God as Lord of history to confession of our impatience with His timing, then toward trust that He is working through generations and preparing the way for purposes greater than we can see. 🕊️ Part of the Praying Through Genesis series — praying through every chapter of Genesis, one prayer at a time. 📖 Bible passage: Genesis 11:11–32 🙏 Today’s prayer: “The God Who Prepares the Way” New episodes released week.
