Genesis 12:1-9: The God Who Calls Us To Follow | Bible Study & Prayer

Would you follow God if He asked you to leave what was familiar without showing you exactly where He was taking you? In Genesis 12:1–9, God speaks to Abram, later known as Abraham, with a life-changing command: “Go.” Abram is asked to leave his country, his people, and his father’s household for a land God will show him. He receives extraordinary promises—but not a detailed map of the journey ahead. Abram responds by going. Along the way, he builds altars and calls on the name of the Lord, marking his journey with worship. His story raises a question for every generation of believers: what does it mean to trust God, walk by faith, and follow Him when we cannot yet see where He is leading? As we study Genesis 12 and pray through Scripture, today’s prayer moves from trust in the God who calls us to courage in the face of uncertainty—asking Him to help us follow where He leads, remember His faithfulness along the way, and live as people whose journey points others toward Him. 🕊️ Part of the Praying Through Genesis series — praying through every chapter of Genesis, one prayer at a time. 📖 Bible passage: Genesis 12:1–9 🙏 Today’s prayer: “The God Who Calls Us to Follow” New episodes released week.
