The RCZ, Reimagined: Peugeot's 500 hp Electric Concept Explained

In 2007 Peugeot built a coupé purely for a motor show stand. People liked it so much that Peugeot put it into production, and almost sixty-eight thousand were sold. Now the RCZ name is back on an electric concept, the Peugeot RCZ Vision, revealed at the 2026 Paris Motor Show. In this video we start with the original: the 308 RC Z concept at Frankfurt 2007, production by Magna Steyr in Graz, the engines, the Coupé of the Year and Red Dot awards, the 2013 facelift, the 270 hp RCZ R and the Nürburgring 24 Hours class wins. Then we get into the RCZ Vision: the double-bubble glass roof, the floating arches, the hidden rear spoiler, Feline Future design, the Hypersquare with steer-by-wire and brake-by-wire, the transparent Micro LED screens, and the claimed 500 hp and 600 km range from a thin solid-state battery developed with Factorial. Finally we ask whether it will be built, and which parts are coming to the next electric 208. The figures shown are Peugeot's claims for a concept.
