He Once Started His Career Here. Now He Is the DGP | Dr. Sagar Preet Hooda

Dr. Sagar Preet Hooda’s journey from a young IPS officer of the 1997 batch to Director General of Police, Chandigarh, is a remarkable story spanning nearly three decades. An AGMUT cadre officer, he has served across Chandigarh, Arunachal Pradesh and Delhi, while also taking up important assignments with the Government of India. His career has included senior responsibilities in law and order, intelligence and administration. Honoured with the Police (Special Duty) Medal, Police Medal for Meritorious Service and President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service, Hooda returned to Chandigarh in 2025 as its police chief — bringing his career full circle.
