From UN peacekeeping in Kosovo to the icy frontier of Ladakh, DGP Deepam Seth’s three-decade IPS journey has taken him through some of the most complex security environments. The 1995-batch IPS officer, who now heads Uttarakhand Police, has served in Uttar Pradesh, worked with the United Nations in Kosovo, led ITBP’s North-West Frontier at Leh during the India-China standoff, and earned major service medals. With a PhD in Management from IIT Roorkee focusing on mega-event policing, Seth now faces Uttarakhand’s unique challenges — from crime and cybercrime to disasters, pilgrimages and the 2027 Kumbh.
