Born in 1944 in Geraki, Laconia, Ageliki Kanelakos grew up surrounded by hardship and loss. After her father's death, poverty forced her mother to give her three youngest daughters up for adoption, separating the family for years. In 1962, Ageliki migrated to Australia, where she worked tirelessly in factories and knitting mills, building a new life with her husband and raising their two sons. But despite the distance and passing years, she never forgot the family she had left behind. This is a moving story of migration, sacrifice, separation and the extraordinary reunion of a family once torn apart. This story is part of Our People, Their Stories, a project of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia, produced and directed by Markellos Petropoulos. #OurPeopleTheirStories #GreekAustralians #MigrationStories #FamilyReunion #GreekDiaspora
