Gilgamesh - The Real King Who Tried to Defeat Death

About 4,000 years ago, someone pressed a story into wet clay, and it became one of the oldest great stories ever written. Its hero was probably a real man: Gilgamesh, king of Uruk, around 2700 BC. In this animated comic, follow the tyrant king who was two-thirds god, the wild man Enkidu made from clay, the monster Humbaba in the Cedar Forest, the goddess Ishtar and the Bull of Heaven, and a friendship that ended in grief. Then comes a journey to the end of the world to find Utnapishtim, the man who survived the Great Flood, and a test no human can pass. Finally, the real history: the library of Ashurbanipal, the fire of Nineveh in 612 BC that baked the tablets hard, and George Smith's 1872 discovery of a flood story strikingly like Noah's. The whole story, start to finish, in one sitting.
