Slow Living in Italy | Summer at Home, Dolomites, Alpine Lakes & Senegalese Family Cooking

Back home in Italy for the summer, I wanted to spend some time showing the kids a little more of the places, traditions and people that shaped me. In this vlog, we escape the summer crowds of South Tyrol for a quiet family day at Lago Santo in Trentino, try our new SUP board, hike up to the incredible Seceda with my sister, and spend another lake day at beautiful Lake Molveno in the Brenta Dolomites. And before our summer at home came to an end, I had one last cooking day with my dad. He taught me how he makes maafe — my favorite Senegalese dish — and we finished the trip with one big family dinner together. Living so far away in Korea, these summers have become especially meaningful to me. I love being able to show Fanta and Ardho a little of where I grew up, while also keeping the Senegalese side of our family and culture close to them. Thank you so much for spending this summer with us.
