A full walkthrough of Kobe Suma Sea World, the aquarium that opened in June 2024 on Suma Beach, 15 minutes by train from central Kobe — about 40 minutes, 4K.
The park is best known for its two orcas, Stella (mother, estimated 40) and Ran (daughter, 20), who moved here from Nagoya Port Aquarium. The orca stadium faces the beach, and the daily 20-minute presentation shows the trainers working with them — jumps, tail slaps, and a lot of water into the first ten rows.
Beyond the orcas, the Aqua Live building walks you from a mountain stream down to the Seto Inland Sea, then into jellyfish, tropical reefs, a big open-ocean tank with manta rays and sharks, seals and penguins on the roof, and a touch pool with small sharks and rays.

✅ GOOD TO KNOW
・Rows 1–10 of the orca stadium get seriously wet. Ponchos are ¥400 at the shop, or sit higher up
・Dolphin presentation times change daily — check the schedule board when you arrive
・The three buildings (Orca Stadium, Dolphin Stadium, Aqua Live) are connected by a walkway on the 3rd floor
・The Aqua Live roof (4F) is outdoors — penguins and seals are still viewable in rain, but bring a jacket
・Touch pool on Aqua Live 3F: small sharks and rays, no time limit, wash hands after
・Orca Lab has the full skeleton and explains fin anatomy — worth 10 minutes if you like the science
・Suma Beach is right outside; moon jellyfish from the tanks are the same species you'll see in the water there
