The friends gently lay their flower seeds on big green leaves - whoosh! The wind blows them away. They hurry after them, pick them up and put them back, and hold them safe under their hands. But when they lift their hands to look - puff - the tiny seeds tumble away again. They're just too light! Then Dot spots the damp, soft soil by the puddle. Momo carries a big lump over, and each friend pinches a little soil, wraps it round a seed and rolls it into a tiny seed ball. Now the wind blows - and the seed balls stay put, ready to plant! Why did the wind blow the seeds away so easily? 2. What happened when the friends held the seeds under their hands? 3. How did the soil help the seeds stay put? 4. Why did they use damp soil and not dry sand? 5. What would you plant with a seed ball? FAQ Q: What age is this for? A: Toddlers and preschoolers, about 2-6 years old, ideally watched together with a grown-up. Q: What does this episode teach? A: Early science and problem solving: very light things are blown away by the wind, but wrapping a seed in a little ball of damp soil makes it heavier and steadier - and ready to plant. Q: Can we try it at home? A: Yes - with a grown-up, mix a little garden soil with a few drops of water, roll small balls round a few seeds (like sunflower or bean seeds), let them dry, then plant them in a pot. Q: Are there words? A: No. Clever Clay Friends is wordless: the story is told with actions, music and sound, so children can tell it in their own words.
