Bellows is one of the three basic exercises used here to check the connection between the upper and lower body. Begin with a hands-on-thighs experiment: slowly draw the lower back backward and notice whether the hands feel an upward lift. Do not actively lift the hands or tilt the feet upward. Feeling this lift does not mean the whole body is already connected. We then return to the complete Bellows movement: the lower back moves actively, while the shoulders and legs are carried along. During the return, check whether you have straightened the body too early. Keep the connection between the hip bone and thigh bone in this section before returning fully; this does not mean locking the knees or tensing the legs. After practicing for a while, repeat the check with the same posture and a similar speed. Notice whether you feel an upward lift, where it stops, and whether the connection breaks during contraction or expansion. Next, we will use turning the legs while keeping the waist still, and turning the waist while keeping the legs still, to check our horizontal channels. If you would like to keep practicing with this series, you are welcome to follow Bailu. Chinese spoken audio. Chinese (Simplified) and English subtitles are available as separate tracks. #Bailu #BellowsPractice #InternalMartialArts
